ThouShaltNot's moody and kinetic music defies comparison; blending postpunk, electronic, and goth styles, the three-piece band is epic and refined in their sound, but retains an emotional rawness and a sensitivity of songcraft. Since their formation in 1999, ThouShaltNot have built strong fanbases through four national tours and their work with acts such as The Dresden Dolls, VNV Nation, Alphaville, Girl Talk, Information Society, and David J. of Bauhaus. Their club hits "Cardinal Directions," "Without Faith," "Last Comfort," and "Inside of You, In Spite of You," have been played at nearly every dark alternative and goth venue in America, while their more organic "True Love" and "When Everyone Forgets" have appeared to acclaim on high profile compilations ("Dark Cabaret" and Neil Gaiman's own compilation) that exceed the limits of genre. Never cliché, ThouShaltNot's music, throughout its thoughtful, theatrical, and sometimes playful subject matter, is hook-laden and rewardingly complex in its emotional and intellectual architecture. The band members are dedicated to their craft songwriter Alex Reed holds a Ph.D. in music, drummer Aaron Fuleki builds his own acoustic and electronic instruments, and classically trained Jeremy David Long has written video game music. With their latest releases, Land Dispute and the New World EP, ThouShaltNot is poised to change the way you think and feel about music. ThouShaltNot is:
